Santa
Fe, N.M. - Belo News is reporting from our intrepid hero's Spring
Training grounds, the land of enchantment, Santa Fe, New Mexico! Is
this a great country or what?!?
Sharkman
doesn't seem to be getting in as many miles as he would like, as he
is having way too much fun visiting his Sharklet's, but so goes life,
eh?
Be
that as it may, it is time again for the mighty Minion Nation to
start, yet another fantastic season of riding, mayhem and koffee drinking! Is this a great country or what?!?
It
was somewhat of an uneventful winter with a lack of snow for skiing
and a lot of rain and mud that made fat tire riding a bit
complicated. But all are hoping for a great Spring season!
And
the day that every Minion waits for each winter, is almost here! Can
you feel the excitement?!? Uh, can you? No, Bunkie, that's not gas you're feeling!
Opening Day is upon us!!!

Opening
Day for the mighty Minion Nation is slated for Saturday, April 1 (no
fooling), 2017! Anyone who is anyone, in the world of cycling knows
how big a day this will be!
Start
time will be determined the last week of March with an eye on the
weather, but suffice it to say it would be between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.
So
be watching for an update on the start time!
A
few comments about the start of the season;
First,
there will be an A and a B group again this year. This seemed to be
very popular last year, the Nation is getting a bit older, and many
appreciate the social aspect of a more laid back ride.
The
month of April will be considered “Spring Training” and sprint
and finishing places will not be reported in Belo News unless our
intrepid hero, the Sharkman, should happen to surprise the peloton,
as well as hizzelf, and win a sprint or the finish.
After all, he is
the Sharkman and will take all the publicity he can.....
For
those of you looking to start, or come back this year, Spring is the best time
to do that as the pace is a bit more social and riders (other than
Barry-Roubaix veterans) are not in as good a shape yet for the road.
So come on out and join the fun!
Speaking
of that, Minions need to remember that we do not really want to grow
the ride. We had as many as 40 on some Saturday's last year and that gets unwieldy and unsafe.
However, if you do feel you need to invite a rider, you need to be clear
with them what type of ride it is and YOU are responsible for them.
If they cannot keep up the pace, it is the inviting Minions
responsibility to look after them. We leave no Minion behind, so if
your guest falls off the pace it is YOUR responsibility to insure
they are escorted back to the Klutch!
And finally, we want this ride to remain safe. It is all about watching out for each other, not winning. Each rider rides at their own risk, but additionally, needs to be mindful of the safety of the entire group. In other words, ride safe, Minions!
So
blow the dust off your road steed and get ready to ride, Minions!
2017
should be another fantastic year!

here is the information you will need to enter. This has been a great
annual event for the Nation and helps our Team Taylor Minions earn
even more dollars for their Make A Wish ride in July! So let's all
